About this listen

The course of true love doesn't always run clean. But sometimes getting dirty is half the fun.

Entomology grad student Adam Ellery meets Denver Rogers, a muscle-bound hunk of sexy, when Denver effortlessly dispatches the drunken frat boys harassing Adam at the Tucker Springs laundromat. Thanking him turns into flirting, and then, much to Adam's delight, hot sex over the laundry table.

Though Denver's job as a bouncer at a gay bar means he gets his pick of geek-sexy college twinks, he can't get Adam out of his head. Adam seems to need the same rough play Denver does, and it's damn hard to say no to such a perfect fit.

Trouble is, Adam isn't just shy: he has obsessive compulsive disorder and clinical anxiety, conditions which have ruined past relationships. And while Denver might be able to bench-press a pile of grad students, he comes from a history of abuse and is terrified of getting his GED. Neither Denver nor Adam want to face their dirty laundry, but to stay together, they're going to have to come clean.

Really enjoyable

I really enjoyed this story when I read it last year. I saw the Audible was on sale so I got it. It was so much better listening to it and I got even more from the story.

Moving; sweet; disturbing

This covers some difficult subjects with gentle grace; the characters are very flawed and surprisingly endearing. The narration is excellent. I enjoyed it but for some people it might be triggering.

Great Book

I loved both Adam Ellery and Denver Rogers. I loved how Adam met Denver. I think it was great how Denver and Adam fell for each other. I liked how Adam talked about insects. I fell for both Adam and Denver. I loved how the subject of Anxiety was talked about. It was hard hearing how Adam and Denver were down on themselves because I liked them. The narration was great and I loved the ending. I hope there is a sequel to this story of Adam and Denver.

HOT

Would you listen to Dirty Laundry again? Why?

Yes, I've listened to it several times and I keep coming back. It's one of my favorite stories overall, and it's fun and dirty as hell.

Which scene was your favorite?

The sex scene in the truck. Hot and sweet and nasty!

A Quick Meet Up Leads to the Unexpected Chance Rom

Would you listen to Dirty Laundry again? Why?

Yes! It was a hot and kinky story for sure, but it was also so much more. These guys found healing and found each other. A lot going on beneath the surface. Love having substance with my heat.
The narrator told the story well. I enjoyed his take on all the voices and accents. Adam's inner monologues when working through his fears was well done. Denver sounded too old, but I loved the cowboy accent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Denver. Denver was the ultimate surprise twist. He comes across as a certain way for much of the story, but there are moments when the reader gets the sense that something's going on there beneath the surface. And there was. So much depth by the done the author gets done revealing all.

Which scene was your favorite?

It was the last one. I grinned from ear to ear. After all that went on before, that was a perfect final scene.

If you could rename Dirty Laundry, what would you call it?

Oh good grief, I have no idea. Because that title? Perfect. The meet-up in the laundromat and the dirty talking and action that ensues make that a title that cannot be improved upon.

Any additional comments?

The book is third in the Tucker Springs series, but I had no trouble reading it out of order or as a standalone.

I rec'd the book from Riptide Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

New twist to love

Great narrator! Sex scenes were hot although, a bit kinky. Story was well written about a young man with a disability that his lover understood and helped him live with.

Loved it

I love writers that can do different story lines but include your favorite characters. I thought it was a great addition to her other stories.

Always hard when transitioning a favorite read ...

Dirty Laundry had been a favorite of mine for several years. It is not only steamy straight from the gate, but I am partial to a story about inner turmoil, conflict and self-acceptance.

I did, however, struggle with the character's voices. It is hardest when you have an idea of what a character sounds like from past reading. There is always a jolt when you hear an external interpretation. It took me several chapters to adjust to the character voices, but the second listen was a lot easier to sink into.
