I have just purchased this after listening for free with AE I truly love the story of this book and can wait to see what happens in the next one. To everyone who looks at these review not ever book is like the reviews say I love this book and I thought the narration by Jillian Macie was fantastic.

This is a classic beauty and the beast story. The hurt scared man finds a bold free spirited women. Fighting though their problems they find true love. The fantasy love we all secretly wish for. this is my favorite of the series.

I absolutely loved this book!! I read the first one and fell in love with Hunter. Well intrigued I guess is a better word. This author is amazing when it comes to her characters. She gives you so much you just immediately fall into them and their story and what makes them tick.
Hunter he has been through so much in his life at a young age it altered him and how he dealt with his life. He secluded himself in order to not have to deal with the cruelty of the world. He had been this way for so long he didn't truly know how to overcome it and then he sees the lovely spitfire Gretchen and it completely thew for a loop. He wants her unlike anything he has ever wanted but in his mind it will never happen. So he sets up a scheme in order to just be in her presence.
Gretchen is just your average girl Not a lot of money but she doesn't care. She works hard and is a spitfire, to say the least. She is offered a dream job and finally decides to take it. She is a little nervous about it not knowing much and the fact she has to move in is a little odd. Then after being there and never meeting Mr. Buchanan she sets out to find him on her own...and boy does she find him.
Once she finally sees all of him she understands why he hides, but to her he is magnificent. She just has to get him to see what she sees.
They go back and forth for a long time the finally she decides to take matters into her own hands. She wants him and she will prove to him he is just as magnificent and she thinks he is...but for him all he sees is a damaged man no one could possibly love or care for. They go through many struggles in order for them to finally be in a good place. In the end, she finally proves to him that she loves him for his scars and all, not his money or power just the shy, sweet, grumpy, scared man!!!!

I love everything the whole collection but this is my favorite Gretchin is just too much and Hunter will always be my favorite my heart goes out him. I've read all of the stories and can wait for the next one

I read it again and again

The only criticism would be when Audrey showed up at her sister's party with her drunken, druggie twin. That wouldn't have happened. It would have been way more believable to have the drunk crash the party on her own. Other than that, I really enjoyed the story. Especially the damaged, treasure of a man who was Hunter. I'll enjoy the rest of this series, I'm sure.

I loved the story and the characters. Jillian has a nice voice and is easy to listen to. She seems to have an accent that I cannot identify, she tends to say "sax" instead of "sex". While I enjoy listening to her, her male voices are not good. Sometimes it is hard to determine which character is speaking because her voices seem the same. I will continue with the series.
