About this listen

Face it, fairy tales were always kind of kinky: from beautiful queens tied up in knots by wicked sorcerers to a wide variety of naughty and nice scenarios. Someone was always getting tied to a bed! In this new anthology of erotic romance fairy tales from the editor of the best-selling Fairy Tale Lust and Lustfully Ever After, the fairy tales are naughtier and have a BDSM twist. Retellings of the classics are joined with clever original tales, making for a darkly sensual and intensely romantic collection. Cathy Yardley, author of Crave: The Seduction of Snow White, introduces this compilation of enticing out-of-this-world erotic romance.

DNF producer should be slapped for many word slips

What would have made A Princess Bound better?

Take the time to prep the narrator. She mispronounced *a lot* of words, including names. The name that caused me to stop and mentally throw the book at a wall is either Isabeau or Ysabeau (don't have a text version). She pronounced it [ Is a boo ] and it should be said either as [ Is a bow ] or [ Ees a bow ].

Has A Princess Bound turned you off from other books in this genre?

not at all. The stories I listened to are OK. Not the best I've read, but OK.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The little girl voice was totally not to my taste. but my main objection is the uncorrected mispronounciations.
Also: Shame on the production staff for allowing the errors to get through, and shame for not allocating enough funds to take the time to do it right.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I have the option to return it.

Any additional comments?

(copy&pasted from another of my reviews)
Maybe offer incentives to the narrators for improving vocabulary, pronunciation skills? I have a huge vocabulary, but there are many words that I have seen, but have neither heard nor said. I feel it is unreasonable to expect that ordinary people be expected to correctly pronunce a word the first time it is encountered.

General comment, not book specific:
I listened to a lot books-on-tape from Recorded Books, and was always aghast at the retail prices of those titles. Never bought any because of that. (Thank you local public libraries!!!).

I would like to see a better balance between retail price and production quality. I am willing to pay some more if that means the quality will improve.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
